Alex is a Biodynamic Horticulturist, Nature Connection Facilitator & Mentor with over 20 years’ experience working with land, plants, and people. He specialises in creating productive, sustainable, and wildlife enhancing spaces that care for both the land and those who tend it.
Trained in Biodynamic Horticulture at Emerson College in 2012, Alex shortly after co-founded the Medicine Garden at The Clophill Centre — a community project growing medicinal herbs, fruit, vegetables, and flowers. He has delivered practical education in food growing, herbal medicine, and land stewardship, supporting projects and gardens of a range of sizes to maximise their growing potential while working in harmony with nature, some examples are on the Portfolio page.
Alongside horticulture, Alex has a strong background in mentoring and community engagement, having worked in schools, youth services, and care settings before venturing into plants. This experience has given him excellent experience in working with people, guiding and mentoring - which he brings into land-based work with diverse groups.
Currently tending a site in Hampshire, where he has established a food garden, pond, as well as managing 3 acres of woodland and enhancing biodiversity through wildlife habitat,. He and his partner also host a regular Nature Connection Community to help people connect with Nature and unplug from the busy world for a moment. His work is rooted in practical, hands-on growing knowledge combined with a people-centered approach to land care.
